Some video games left an impact on our life just like movies. These video games are usually great on their own but when we talk about their adaption in a movie, its not so great. here is a list of 10 video game adaptions of movies that you can watch.
1. Sonic the Hedgehog (2020)
The film tells the story of the world’s fastest hedgehog as he embraces his new home on Earth. In this live-action adventure comedy Sonic and his new best friend team up to defend the planet from the evil genius Dr. Robotnik and his plans for world domination.
In 2 nd installment of the franchise released in 2022, Dr. Robotnik returns with a new partner Knuckles in search of a mystical emerald that has the power to destroy civilians.
2. Pokémon Detective Pikachu (2019)
Based on popular anime series and video games, the film represents a credible universe in which pokemon and people can co-exist.
When Tim Goodman, a young boy came to Ryme city to investigate his father’s mysterious death, he teams up with a talking Pikachu with whom only he can communicate.
If you are a pokemon fan or not, you love the unpredictable climax and amazing CGI.
3. Resident Evil (2002)
The film is an adaption of the popular video game from the 90s. The film is set in an underground lab of a pharmaceutical company where T-Virus has been released and affects the inhabitants, turning them into flesh-eating zombies. A team of soldiers is sent to shut down the AI software that caused the massacre. Alice (Main Character) wakes up with no memory of her past but is identified as a soldier for the company. She is led by the team of soldiers to be helping hand in their mission.
4. Uncharted (2022)
The first uncharted game was released in 2007. This movie is about Victor Sully Sullivan, a treasure hunter who enlists street-smart Nathan Drake’s assistance in order to locate a 500 year old lost riches gathered by explorer Ferdinand Magellan. The fight scenes are well executed and fun to watch with beautiful locations, same build up and pacing as the games.
5. Werewolves Within (2021)
One of the highly rated video game movie adaptions to date. the premise is the same as the game. A group of people must figure out who one among them is a werewolf trying to eat them.
This film is a great blend of horror drama and comedy with its great cast.
6. Silent Hill (2006)
The first silent hill game was released in 1999. The main plot of the story is that Rose’s daughter is sleepwalking and speaks of a place called Silent hill. Desperate to seek answers she and her daughter journey to Silent hill, where she will encounter scary monsters.
This is not a perfect one but a standard horror flick that gets the job done through visuals and environment.
7. Mortal Kombat (2021)
The movie is a fine mix of action and gore. The fighting and Choreography is amazing.

8. Rampage (2018)
This movie is an adaptation of an arcade game. Primatologist Dwayne Johnson finds out his beloved gorilla friend George has been infected with a mysterious gas that turns him into a giant beast. To make matters worse, a wolf and a crocodile have been infected too. With the help of a discredited genetic engineer, ‘The Rock’ must save George, stop the other two from destroying most of America and find out who was responsible for this mutation.
9. Warcraft (2016)
The plot is stunning with no failure to amaze the audience. a stunning portrayal of magic and the beginning of the human and orc conflict. Though received not good reviews from critics, this movie has all the elements required for adaption from the game to the screen.
10. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2010)
An underrated movie that failed to impress critics. Each and every set piece, costume design beautifully
presented like the game. and the casts gave stunning performances. The film is about a dagger that enables the wielder to manipulate time.
